Meet our Board Members and Club Activity Representatives!

Club President (4-Years Running...)

BRIAN NUSS, PRESIDENT

BRIAN J. NUSS
Meet the President; A dedicated, inquisitive and multifaceted character. He started skiing when he was 3 or 4 and hasn’t looked back since! His fondest memory, aside from being “accidentally dropped” from the lift (which may explain some of his ‘quirkiness’), was skiing under a building propped up on cinder blocks. This daring caper ensued while he was trying to run away from his German ski instructor (who’s incoherent instruction mandated escape!!) Biggest “yard sale” for Brian occurred in 2005, Daly Bowl @ Deer Valley (video footage available on request!). Brian is currently carving 162cm Rossignol Zenith 11s, enjoys Blue Moon Belgian White as his Happy Hour favorite and has a strange obsession with watching Curling. Volleyball claims a large portion of his indoor/outdoor activity time in the off-season!
Vice President, Ski

SONNY SCHNITZLER, VP of SKI

DAVID "SONNY" SCHNITZLER
He's Committed, Fun-Loving and a thrill seeker that is always looking for the next challenge, (bigger, better, faster!)
Dave was the ripe old age of six when he started on wood skis with cable bindings and leather tie-up boots.  He claims he's never taken a lesson but he's certainly fooled us!
His most precarious "yard-sale" was Copper Mountain, CO 2006. Lots of gore and eight stitches couldn't keep him from skiing the very next day!!
Dave moonlights as a knuckle-dragger, currently alternating between skiing on K2 Apachi Crossfires (167CM) and an Ignition snowboard.  When he's on the road 2-wheeling, it's on a Cannondale R-900r burning up the road at about 3000miles/summer! Glenlivet on the rocks or Guinness off tap will cap the week off with a smile for our fearless VP!

Treasurer

MARY ANN BEDICS
Meet this year’s new club treasurer. She’s an honest, humorous, and even-keeled person who can be spotted at our weekly happy hours sipping white zinfandel. She started skiing in her early 30's at Camelback while working in a school district where she cleverly took advantage of the school's ski club to get a free ride - bus ride, rentals and lessons! Her skis of choice are brand new Head skis (and boots to boot!). This summer she’ll be rolling on a Schwinn Impact, or embracing her other passion; golfing.
Memberships
DENISE KERN
This gal is constantly on the go because she just can't sit still! She channels her energy into volunteering with the local emergency rescue team, rooting for the underdog and skiing of course! She began skiing in her early 20's and has attributed her graceful exits from awkward and twisted situations on the slopes to her gymnastics training! Her blades are "pre-trained" K2's which she says are a first in a long history of Rossignols. Denise is devoted fan of the Vodka martini but with due respect of course! In the off-season, she can't get enough of flying around the neighborhood on her rollerblades.
Recording Secretary
BARB STEPHENS
Our club recording secretary has more than three adjectives to describe her character however, bubbly, considerate and caring top the list. She started skiing at 19 years of age, but had to wait until she was 26 (and able to fund her hobby) to really get into the sport. She's made some life-long friendships from her skiing adventures and many fond memories of skiing with her sons! Her skis are K2's, her wine is red (Cabernet), and her passions from April 1st through February 1st are Phillies Baseball and Eagles Football.
Newsletter/ HH
BILL ORTNER
Watch out for this guy - he may look like he's Santa on vacation, but he's as feisty as they get! Host of the Spring Fling and the Annual Pig Roast, he sure knows how to show the club members a good time - especially the smorgasbord of great food and foreign lagers! As a former club president, he's an active board member that has provided great ideas, input and support for our group! His skis of choice are Rossignol B2 Bandits and as the Happy Hour coordinator, he toasts in Fridays with his favorite wine.
Trips/Board Member
CURT "THE BEAR" JOHNSTON
Cuddly, huggable and always ready with a story! Curt may look imposing, but once you get to know him you'll realize he really is a big teddy bear! He's got a knack for welcoming everyone into the group and showing them a good time. His experience in running club trips to Europe and within North America span many years, many smiles and much praise! His knowledge of foreign brewskies is formidable, so if you're curious - quiz him on it!
Board Member/Web

VICTORIA PERITY
This is Vic. Or "Victoria" but never "Vicky". She's an activity hound that doesn't like to sit still. Whether it's hunting for powder on her Elan Mag Spice or seeking to break personal speed records on her Bianchi road bike, it's usually go go gooooo! Her first fond ski memory is successfully navigating her first "big hill" in Canada. During a lesson, the instructors made her leave her poles at the bottom - apparently not challenging enough, she decided to 'lose' one ski on the way up. She tucked all the way down and lived to tell about it! (Although years later, she decided to repeat the feat and went bowling for people at the bottom). Happy hours call for Raspberry Martinis!
Board Member

JEANNE WEISER
This is our spunky, energetic and persistent wild child! She started skiing at the age of 17 and recalls fondly the rope burn on her gloves from the rope tow! Yard sale, oh yeah! Racing (likely at bear-neck speed), she bounced off a gate and knocked everything off! She made contact so hard she was unable to sleep on the injured side for 3 months! Currently cruising on Volkl Ativa 5 Star's, just try and keep up! This Spring she will be switching to road biking and toasting the end of an active week with a favorite wheat beer!
Board Member

KRIS YERRY
This is Kris, a fun-loving, athletic and adventurous chick! She started skiing when she was 13 and has been hooked ever since! Her skis of choice are K2 True Luv's. Her active lifestyle outside of skiing is filled to the brim from cycling to hiking! At happy hour you'll find she's a fan of Red Wine and is usually sporting a bright smile!

Board Member
GORDON YERRY
Gordon can be described as an athletic, and inquisitive gent with an affinity for animated conversations! He started skiing at the age of 12-yrs and his current skis of choice are K2 Apache Strikers. His "fondest" memory is seeing the light at the end of the blizzard-tunnel: Guaranteed fresh powder! His passion outside of skiing is SCUBA diving and underwater photography. He has multiple fascinating certifications that you could quiz him on at Happy Hour where he'll be partaking in a rum concoction!
