Without a cloud in the sky, the Ptarmigan Boat Rally headed south to Philadelphia.
Meeting at the KMart shopping center, 4 boats and 14 crew members took off
for Nesehemy State Park... With the help of a few "map coordinators" we stopped
along the way to enjoy the many "side streets" that Philadelphia had to offer...
Upon arriving at Nesehemy State Park we were greeted by friendly Park Rangers
who guided us to the "better" boat launch area... Once in the water we headed
south to Penn's Landing. Tall bridges, tall ships and tall buildings
surrounded us as we cruised along the water front. The gang stopped
at the NJ state Aquarium for a short break before heading back to find a safe
haven from the sun. With the weather approaching 100 degrees, some
headed home while the rest of us took comfort hitting the water for a refreshing
swim. As true Ptarmigans, skiing was also enjoyed by some of the guys...
As the sun started to set, we headed home...
